The Doctor
In Julius Caesar, Portia is concerned with Brutus's health, but she thinks the problem could be with his mind, not his body. She says if he were physically ill, he "would embrace the means to come by" good health. As the doctor, you will be researching what medicines or cures people of Ancient Rome might have used. Then, you'll compare and contrast Ancient Roman medicine to today's medical practices.
You might want to use the following graphic organizer to organize the information you read:
Modified Venn Diagram--Use this as you would a regular Venn Diagram; write attributes of Roman medicine on one side, attributes of today's medicine on the other side, and similarities between the two in the middle.

Make a poster comparing and contrasting at least three similarities and at least three differences between the way medicine was practiced in Ancient Rome to what you know about the way medicine is practiced today. Be sure to include pictures (either photographs, clip art, or something you've drawn) to enhance your poster. You can model your poster after your Venn Diagram you completed while gathering information if you want.
