Process 1

 

You will work in a team of three people to collect the information for your PowerPoint presentation.  All of your information will be gathered from the Internet.  Remember to collect pictures as you make your journey through the Internet.  Before you actually read the information on the website, skim the entire site as a pre-reading activity to let you know about the information contained there.  Each student is to specialize in one of the following areas:

 

As you read this information, take notes of the important information you will need to have to prepare your PowerPoint presentation. 

 

-Geography expert   This person is responsible for finding out location and characteristics of your biome.  One of your jobs is to collect maps and other images, which illustrate location and characteristics.

-Botany expert         This person is responsible for finding out about the species of plants in your biome.  A special part of your job is gathering  information and images about plants that are unusual to your biome.

-Biology expert         This person collects information about the animals in your biome.  Make sure you get some images of the unusual things found in your biome.

**** Now prepare your PowerPoint to share what you have learned from your reading.  Remember, the purpose of your PowerPoint is to let your audience (other classmates) know about your biome by answering the questions on the Task 1 page.  Also, take a look at the rubric that will be used to grade your presentation on the Conclusions page.
