OVERVIEW

A four-week unit on Charlotte's Web has just been completed by the class. The targeted content areas are Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, and Arts/Humanities at the middle grade level. The activities were designed for seventh grade, but could be used at a lower or higher level. This Web (no pun intended) Quest takes students to various sites on the Internet. Each of the intelligences in the Multiple Intelligences Theory will be covered during the journey. Kentucky Program of Studies and Core Content that will be addressed include: RD-M-4.0.11 Locate and apply information for a specific purpose (e.g., following directions, completing a task); RD-M-x.0.0 Reflect on and evaluate what is read; WR-E-1.4 Transactive writing; MA-E-21.5 Nonstandard and standard units of measurement; MA-M-2.3.1 How measurements and measurement formulas are related or different;  AH-M-1.1.13 Compose and notate short pieces of music demonstrating unity/variety, tension/release, and balance; AH-M-4.1.42 Effectively use a variety of art media, processes, and subject matter to communicate ideas, feelings, and experiences; SS-M-3.4.3 Personal, national, and international activities are interdependent.
