#5-Wilbur is so happy that you decided to help him get something to eat. Now that his belly is full, he can start to formulate a plan for getting back home. As he was walking down the road, he noticed a lot of big trucks, much bigger than the one Mr. Zuckerman had used  to transport him to the fair. Being the intelligent pig that he is, he knows that he can get home a lot quicker in one of these big rigs. He would he headin' for the "ham" stretch! Wilbur is also keen enough to know that the guys driving these big trucks probably won't believe he can communicate and may not be willing to give him a ride, so he plots his strategy. He decides to wait until one comes to the market to unload and then sneak into the back. Since you have already helped Wilbur figure out the direction he needs to go to get home, he just waited for a truck going northeast and hopped aboard. Wilbur was very tired from his day's adventures and he drifted off to sleep in the back of the truck. While he napped, he dreamed of being at the fair and being presented with his award. When he awoke, he wondered whether other states had fairs as grand as the one in Pennsylvania. This time you are going to be working in a group of four to complete a task. Your group will research other state fairs, complete a spider map about the state fair you choose, and design a brochure about that state's fair. You may publish  your brochure in the following formats: PowerPoint, as a link on our class web page, in the form of a newspaper page, or by doing an illustrated brochure on paper. This assignment is worth 100 points. Get started by brainstorming the state you will feature in your brochure. You will be able to find information on any state fair by using the name of the state, followed by state fair.com (www.ohiostatefair.com). As you do your research, access the Spider Map found at www.sdcoe.k12.ca.us. Choose Activity #2 (printing out a spider map).  When your map is completed, schedule a time to conference with the teacher before proceeding. Your completed brochure will be graded using the rubric below. Each section is worth 20 points, for a total of 100 points.
