The Task

You were hired by a wildlife organization for your scientific expertise on biodiversity and biogeography.  Biodiversity is a word that means all of the different types of organisms that live in an area.  That includes plants, animals, fungi, bacteria, and anything else that is alive.  Biogeography means - the study of life on Earth. This organization is paying you to travel across the globe to research the wildlife of a particular biome.  On this expedition you must gather information to enable you to create a poster to present to the wildlife organization that hired you.  This poster will include pictures and information about the organisms that you have found.  During your expedition you must find the answers to the following questions so that you can adequately present the information to the organization.

·        Where in the world can we find the particular biome that you are researching?

·        What is the climate like in this biome?  How much rain does it receive?  How many seasons does it have?  What is the average temperature?  How far is it from the equator?

·        What types of animals can be found in this biome?

·        What types of plants can be found in this biome?

·        What types of adaptations do the organisms have that help them to survive?

After you have found the answers to all of these questions you will be able to create a poster that is sure to meet all of the expectation of the wildlife organization.  Your poster will include all of this information and anything else that you find that you think will help the organization.  After you’ve gathered the information click on the word SCORING GUIDE to find out exactly how to make your poster.
