You will also need to be admitted to the Graduate College, although admission by the Graduate College does not guarantee admission to a specific area of study. Applicants to the clinical psychology program need a minimum GRE V + Q of 850; GPA of 2.75 with 3.00 in psychology. Students must also take statistics, experimental methodology, and abnormal/personality courses. Selection is competitive and most students are well above the minimum criteria. Here is a comparison between students who were admitted to the clinical program and students who applied to the program. We have recently added a Personal Statement to our application process. This is a 500-word statement about the student's interests in clinical psychology and general career goals at this point.
We strongly encourage applications from people of under represented groups and are interested in applicants from all backgrounds. WKU is committed to equal opportunity in its educational programs and does not discriminate on the basis of age, race, color, religion, gender, national origin, or sexual
orientation.
